And ladies, we'd love to see you all dressed up in your vintage finery on the day, or even just a touch of something vintage to your outfit for the occasion!
Ladies who would like to come along to socialise but not participate in the swap are welcome to come too! Also sorry lads, it's strictly ladies only!
Please take the time to read through the rules of the swap meet before you come along on the day. There will also be copies of the rules at the party itself incase anyone hasn't had a chance to read them before hand.
- The first rule of swap meet. You CAN talk about the swap meet party with your friends. In fact tell all your friends!
- Now this one is very important. Only bring clothes and accessories you are happy to part with. If you are undecided about something, perhaps it's best to keep it.
- You must wash and iron your clothes before you bring them so they look their best!
- You don't have to bring vintage originals but we'd love to see clothes in styles of the mid-60s (think Mad Men) back to the 1900s.
- To help keep things fair, for each item of clothing you bring you will get one ticket, so 5 pieces of clothing will get you 5 tickets. Each ticket entitles you to pick one piece of clothing you want to take home.
- Accessories such as scarves, belts, jewellery, fascinators and bags are worth 1/2 a ticket. Hats and shoes are worth 1 ticket.
- If you want to try on an item, please use the bathrooms.
- It's first come first serve when picking out the clothes you want to take home.
- Clothes left over at the end of the swap meet party will be donated to Age Action Ireland.
- There is strictly no selling of clothes, it is swapping only.
Sounds great! Do we have to book a rail or can anyone just arrive with clothes to swap at anytime?

ReplyDeleteNope, you don't have to book a thing, just turn up as your lovely self and bring some clothes for the swap if you can. If you know anyone who can't turn up for when the swapping starts at half 3, I can't imagine it'd be a problem if they came a little later, but if it is a good bit later we can't guarantee that there will be much left. Hopefully this isn't a deterrant to anyone who would be late joining us, we'd love to have as many lovely ladies as possible join us on the day!
